About the role#
The Sinker EDM Applications Engineer Intern works with the Applications team to build skills in the machinery industry. You will use 2D and 3D modeling software and operate manufacturing equipment. The goal is to learn how to develop processes that help customers improve their production through analysis and demonstrations. Projects increase in complexity as you gain experience.
What you'll do#
- Use CAD/CAM software to render parts for machine programming.
- Learn how to program and operate machines.
- Support the sales process and customer demonstrations.
- Maintain the showroom by cleaning machines to ensure they are ready for visitors.
- Handle other tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Associate or Bachelor degree program in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic CNC programming skills.
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- A high level of customer service.
- Ability to stay organized and pay attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team environment.

- Physical requirements: This role involves frequent standing, bending, and kneeling. It requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work near moving mechanical parts in an environment with moderate to loud noise levels.
