About the role#
Mativ is hiring an R&D Intern for a full-time, 6-month term. This position is based in a laboratory environment with exposure to the manufacturing floor. You will work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Please note that you cannot take summer courses during this work term.
What you'll do#
- Provide support for key R&D and site projects.
- Prepare and test samples for industrial and medical adhesives.
- Work on automotive and aerospace qualified adhesives and coatings.
- Screen and analyze raw materials.
- Manage process optimization and continuous improvement projects.
- Cover and evaluate product development trials.
- Perform product cost modeling and analysis.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on your work.
- Maintain a lab notebook and keep your workspace clean and organized.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward a degree in Paper Science, Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or Bio Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Prior laboratory experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- You are independently driven and able to work without constant prompting.
