About the role#
Mativ is looking for a Data Science and Business Analytics Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This paid internship provides an opportunity to work on real-world manufacturing data projects while receiving mentorship from team members and management. You will work on-site in Alpharetta, Georgia, from May 17, 2027, to August 6, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Build new capabilities within the Azure Cloud Environment and Power BI.
- Develop models to solve business problems and standardize existing models using pipelines.
- Manage multiple stages of data science projects, including data pipelines, feature engineering, modeling, and visualization.
- Assist in creating a library of engineered features.
- Use tools like SQL, Qlik View, and Qlik Sense to perform data analytics.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to gather business requirements.
- Present analysis findings and project status updates to product, service, and business managers.
- Learn about the manufacturing process and common data manipulation tasks.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Proficient understanding of Python-based object-oriented programming.
- Hands-on experience with Python libraries including scikit-learn, unittest, pytest, Flask, and MLflow.
- Knowledge of software engineering concepts like versioning, model deployment, model retraining, Git workflows, and CI/CD.
- Experience creating and editing presentations in PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and communicate clearly in oral and written formats.
