Intern - Volunteer Services

About the role#

The Volunteer Services Intern assists staff with daily clerical duties and special projects. This role involves supporting the operational needs of the department through administrative tasks and coordination efforts.

What you'll do#

• Manage email triaging and database entry.
• Assist with applicant screening and the onboarding process.
• Prepare materials for volunteer orientation.
• Maintain communication with volunteers and their respective leaders.
• Analyze volunteer reports and worksheets to identify and address concerns.
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in Business Administration, Psychology, or Human Resources programs.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Proficiency with computer systems, including MS Office and database software.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Physical ability to stand or sit for several hours and lift up to 20 pounds.

Location & details#

• Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan.
• Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: 15-20 hours per week, Monday through Friday between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm.
• Term: Rolling.
• Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
