About the role#
Marvin is hiring a Mechanical Engineer Intern to join the team at the Marvin Composites plant in Fargo. This role offers hands-on exposure to mechanical design, project management, and fabrication. You will work alongside mechanical engineers on projects from start to finish, including design, fabrication, and installation. This is a paid position intended for a candidate who can work year-round, balancing the role with an academic schedule.
What you'll do#
- Design, implement, and support installation upgrades for custom-engineered production equipment throughout the facility.
- Use Creo 3D CAD software for designing, printmaking, 3D printing, and creating sheet metal fabrication files.
- Collaborate with automation and controls teams to implement projects involving mechanical components.
- Upgrade machine guarding and safety control systems.
- Manage hands-on projects involving design installation, fabrication, welding, drilling, and basic machining.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Engineering degree program, specifically Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
- Strong mechanical proficiency and hands-on skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and solve problems effectively.
