About the role#
As a Hardware Engineer Intern, you will join the System Engineering Hardware team within the Multimarket Business Group. You will work on the development of silicon validation boards and customer reference design boards for products including compute processors, CXL accelerators, and custom SoCs. This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with system design engineers on the design, review, bring-up, and validation of hardware platforms.
- Perform hands-on lab testing and debugging to resolve board-level issues.
- Customize and validate FPGA logic for system enablement and evaluation board control.
- Review hardware schematics and PCB layouts to maintain design quality.
- Support hardware and software bring-up for internal development and customer systems.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between Fall 2027 and Summer 2028.
- A foundation in digital circuit design and analysis.
- Experience with embedded programming in C.
- Familiarity with Linux environments and scripting.
- Understanding of communication protocols like I2C and SPI.
- Exposure to FPGA or RTL design, including simulation, synthesis, and verification.
