About the role#
Join the Marotta Controls Co-Op Program to apply your classroom knowledge to real-world aerospace and defense projects. As a Machine Learning Co-Op, you will work alongside experienced professionals on data-driven technology initiatives within the Power and Actuation Systems business unit. You will receive mentorship throughout your rotation and present your findings to senior leadership at the end of the term.
What you'll do#
- Support the development and implementation of machine learning projects.
- Collect, organize, clean, and analyze engineering data for model use.
- Develop, train, test, and evaluate machine learning algorithms.
- Write and maintain code for data processing, analysis, and model testing.
- Identify opportunities to improve model accuracy, efficiency, and reliability.
- Create visualizations and technical summaries to communicate project results.
- Document methodologies, assumptions, and technical findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate technical problems into data-driven solutions.
- Present project progress and final results to engineering leadership and stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Data Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related degree program.
- Strong GPA and demonstrated performance in core coursework.
- Programming experience with Python.
- Familiarity with data analysis or machine learning libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and scikit-learn.
- Understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning, model training, and validation.
- Experience working with datasets or developing technical projects through coursework, research, or personal initiatives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented approach to technical documentation.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Availability to work full-time onsite from January 2027 through the end of Summer 2027.
- Preferred: Experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch and an interest in aerospace or manufacturing applications.
