Sales Engineering Co-op

About the role#

The Sales Engineering Co-op program offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of sales, engineering, and customer engagement. You will work alongside experienced professionals to understand how complex engineered systems are specified, sold, and supported. This role focuses on supporting the sales team in expanding the presence of medical piped equipment and laboratory systems, providing exposure to both the technical and business sides of the industry.

What you'll do#

• Support the sales team with quotation, submittal, and follow-up activities.
• Participate in customer visits, sales calls, and training sessions alongside senior sales staff.
• Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and account tracking.
• Maintain and update customer and opportunity data in CRM systems.
• Learn about the Medical Gas and Laboratory Gas industries, including applications, market dynamics, and industry regulations such as NFPA 99.
• Assist with the development of product and application training materials and presentations.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a BS/BA degree in Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Marketing, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Interest in technical or consultative sales and engineering-driven products.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with engineers, contractors, and customers.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Location & details#

• This is a full-time, paid, on-site co-op position.
• The role involves a rotation between Harrison, Ohio, and Mount Juliet, Tennessee.
• Travel is required to visit hospitals, laboratories, and industrial facilities to meet with consulting engineers and contractors; travel expenses are covered.
