New Product Development Intern – Summer 2026

About the role#

The New Product Development Intern will join the team at Fontaine Modification Company for the Summer 2026 term. This full-time, paid position reports directly to the VP of New Product Development and offers exposure to wider business teams. Interns are expected to complete a capstone project over the summer, which will culminate in a formal presentation to business leadership.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with the Product Development team on specific project assignments.
• Manage prototype testing, including the development of test plans, execution, and the reporting of findings and recommendations.
• Support technologies related to data logging methods and the quantification of product utilization, including product testing and use case validation.
• Participate in SmartPWR AMR assistance and related project tasks.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Status as a rising junior or senior.
• A strong interest in applying academic knowledge to solve practical engineering problems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
