About the role#
The New Product Development Intern will join the team at Fontaine Modification Company for the Summer 2026 term. This full-time, paid position reports directly to the VP of New Product Development and offers exposure to wider business teams. Interns are expected to complete a capstone project over the summer, which will culminate in a formal presentation to business leadership.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Product Development team on specific project assignments.
- Manage prototype testing, including the development of test plans, execution, and the reporting of findings and recommendations.
- Support technologies related to data logging methods and the quantification of product utilization, including product testing and use case validation.
- Participate in SmartPWR AMR assistance and related project tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Status as a rising junior or senior.
- A strong interest in applying academic knowledge to solve practical engineering problems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
