About the role#
MannKind Corporation is hiring a Formulation Development Co-op to join our team in Bedford, Massachusetts. This full-time, paid position supports the development and process engineering of respiratory drug products. You will work on-site during the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Support the development and optimization of engineered particle inhaled dosage forms.
- Perform physiochemical characterization of drug product intermediates.
- Assist with batch manufacturing for development and pre-clinical studies.
- Design, execute, and interpret experiments related to formulation and process development.
- Document, compile, and present technical data.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Handle hazardous materials and chemicals following all safety policies.
- Maintain laboratory notebooks and follow written procedures to ensure compliance with good laboratory practices.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Pharmaceutical Sciences, ideally within 1-2 years of graduation.
- A strong foundation in science and engineering principles.
- Proficiency in MS Office software.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team.
- Eagerness to learn new techniques and follow detailed instructions.
- Accuracy in generating and documenting data.
- Prior experience in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or biotech is a plus.
- Experience with general laboratory procedures.
- Strong time management, organizational skills, and the initiative to identify process improvements.
- Openness to constructive criticism.
