Student Intern, Food Services

About the role#

The Student Intern, Food Services position provides support for daily cafeteria operations at the Joliet Job Corps Center. This is a paid, on-site internship role for current students at the center who have completed at least 90 days on-site.

What you'll do#

• Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, dining areas, serving lines, and the dish room in accordance with health standards.
• Wash dishes and stock supplies to the service line.
• Provide quality customer service to students and staff.
• Support and enforce the Job Corps Zero Tolerance Policy.
• Participate in student employability programs and activities.
• Model appropriate behaviors and mentor students to promote career success standards.
• Maintain property accountability and adhere to all safety practices.

What you'll need#

• Must be a current student attending the Joliet Job Corps Center with at least 90 days on-center experience.
• Some school or training in food preparation.
• Aptitude for cafeteria-type duties.
• Valid food handler’s permit if required by the state of Illinois.
• Ability to dress in compliance with sanitation regulations.

Location & details#

• Location: Joliet, Illinois.
• Wage: $17.20 per hour.
• Schedule: Tuesday through Wednesday and Friday through Sunday, 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
• Work Modality: On-site.
