About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for students at the Reno Job Corps Center. You will report to the food services supervisor and assist with daily kitchen operations to ensure student meals are prepared in accordance with government and management directives. The position follows a rolling term schedule.
What you'll do#
- Assist cooks and cook helpers with the preparation of student meals.
- Perform sanitation and clean-up duties in food preparation, storage, and dish room areas to maintain health standards.
- Transport merchandise and food ingredients to the cooking area as directed.
- Clean the exterior area of the student snack bar.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned in the Admin Building.
- Maintain reliability for shifts that include mornings, evenings, and some weekends.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Job Corps Center student (enrollment in the Culinary Arts program is preferred).
- Status as a completer ready for work-based learning.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Possession of a valid student card.
