About the role#
The Systematic Quant Intern program offers the chance to work alongside the Systematic Quantitative Research and Portfolio Management teams. You will gain exposure to research, investment, and technical tasks while learning what it means to own a quantitative strategy. Interns may rotate through Fixed Income, Equities, Alternatives, or Tax Aware portfolio management teams.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research and develop strategies to improve trading in financial markets.
- Build and enhance quantitative investment strategies using statistical techniques.
- Research implementation aspects such as optimization, transaction costs, and portfolio construction.
- Validate model inputs and the output from quantitative signals.
- Monitor portfolio risk and country or sector exposures.
- Analyze portfolio returns and prepare analysis for client communications.
- Ensure the integrity of the investment philosophy by analyzing the portfolio construction process.
- Assist teams with enhancing existing signals and creating new ones.
What you'll need#
- A strong academic record.
- Undergraduate coursework in a quantitative discipline, including economics, physics, engineering, computer science, or mathematics.
- Proficiency in programming and statistical analysis.
- Ability to apply statistical and quantitative techniques to complex datasets.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to reason quantitatively.
- Ability to think creatively and independently.
- Clear communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Self-organization and the ability to manage time across multiple projects.
