About the role#
As a Psychology Internship Supervisor, you will provide AHPRA-compliant supervision, assessment training, and placement support to Provisional Psychologist Interns. You will work within the MindSpot Academy to help interns complete their 5+1 internship. This role involves translating evidence-based practice into patient-centred care while working alongside clinicians, educators, and the Learning and Development team.
What you'll do#
- Provide AHPRA-compliant clinical supervision and training targeting the core competencies of the 5+1 internship.
- Supervise and train interns in the administration, interpretation, and reporting of psychology assessments, including diagnostic, cognitive, and memory assessments.
- Support internship placements through induction, reporting, offboarding, and coordination with external stakeholders.
- Complete regular assessments of Provisional Psychologist skills and provide learner-focused feedback and development plans.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of internship training, supervision systems, and workshops.
- Provide internship-related consultation to stakeholders and informal mentoring to staff.
What you'll need#
- Tertiary qualification in psychology.
- Current registration as a psychologist with AHPRA, with Board-approved eligibility to principally supervise 5+1 interns.
- At least five years of clinical experience delivering evidence-based mental health interventions and assessments.
- Minimum of two years of experience delivering supervision to Provisional Psychologists.
- Demonstrated expertise in the supervision and training of psychology assessments.
- High-level knowledge of the 5+1 Internship Guidelines, Supervision Guidelines, Code of Conduct for Psychologists, and Core Competencies.
- Proven ability to engage and develop supervisee psychologists.
- Commitment to continuous development of supervision skills.
