About the role#
Mackenzie Investments is hiring a Product Innovation & Development Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This full-time, paid internship is based in Toronto and operates on a hybrid schedule. You will work with the team to research market trends, evaluate new product ideas, and support the development of business cases. This role is intended for students who will return to their undergraduate studies after the term ends.
What you'll do#
- Research investment industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging product structures.
- Analyze competitor product launches and their strategic positioning.
- Summarize market insights and external research for internal stakeholders.
- Assist in evaluating new product ideas and documenting them within the innovation pipeline.
- Develop materials that explain client problems, market opportunities, and strategic rationale.
- Prepare analytical presentations and reports to support decision-making for senior management.
- Conduct data gathering for product validation, including market sizing and competitive analysis.
- Provide ad hoc research support across various innovation initiatives.
What you'll need#
- You are a registered student pursuing an undergraduate degree in a field such as Business Administration or Economics.
- You must be returning to school in 2027 following the internship.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, and Outlook.
- Experience using analytical tools to complete financial analysis.
- Ability to create clear, effective PowerPoint presentations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Sound judgment when constructing analysis and formulating recommendations.
- Ability to self-motivate and manage time-sensitive deadlines.
- A resourceful and creative approach to solving new or non-recurring problems.
