2027 Technology Internship Program

About the role#

The 2027 Technology Internship Program at M&T Bank offers students the opportunity to work under the guidance of a mentor on technology-related projects. This full-time, paid internship takes place during the Summer of 2026 and focuses on gaining practical experience in software development, technical engineering, cybersecurity, or data engineering.

What you'll do#

• Support project-based activities with measurable objectives and clear outcomes.
• Complete basic programming and testing or draft technical plans and scripts.
• Adhere to the company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls, including identifying issues that require escalation.
• Maintain internal control standards and support the implementation of audit points.
• Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Development, or a related STEM field.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Practical knowledge of programming languages such as Java, SQL, Python, or C#.
• Exposure to Agile methodology.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment.

• Compensation: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour.
