About the role#
As an Industrialization Engineering Intern, you will join our Manufacturing and Quality Engineering team at our Longueuil facility. You will work directly on the production floor alongside assembly, warehouse, and quality teams. Your goal is to make our processes faster, safer, and more consistent. You will also support a global team that works with factories and suppliers across North America and Asia.
What you'll do#
- Map material flow and current factory or warehouse layouts to propose improvements that reduce waste and operator movement.
- Conduct cycle time studies for assembly and warehouse operations to identify bottlenecks and improve line balancing and throughput.
- Audit compliance with assembly instructions on the floor, identify gaps, and lead corrective measures.
- Lead 5S audits and implement visual controls and workplace organization standards.
- Design dashboards to track throughput, work-in-progress, cycle times, and assembly compliance.
- Create visual work instructions and standardized work sheets.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects, including ergonomic assessments, workstation reconfiguration, and tooling improvements.
- Prepare processes for engineering change orders and new product launches.
- Collaborate with the Quality team to investigate production defects and support root cause analysis and PFMEA updates.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor or master program in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field at a Canadian university.
- Expected graduation between December 2027 and summer 2028.
- Professional proficiency in French and English, both written and spoken.
- Practical knowledge of lean production principles like just-in-time, standardized work, 5S, and value stream mapping.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
- Previous internship or co-op experience in manufacturing, operations, or quality is an asset.
- Familiarity with Mode, Hex, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Python, Jira, PLM systems, or engineering change processes is an asset.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Longueuil, Quebec.
- The term is for Summer 2027.
- This position is paid at a rate of 34 to 36 dollars per hour CAD.
