About the role#
We are looking for an Industrialization Engineer Intern to join our Manufacturing and Quality Engineering team at our Longueuil factory. You will work on the production floor alongside assembly, warehouse, and quality teams. Your goal is to make our processes safer, faster, and more consistent. You will also join a global team that supports factories and suppliers across Asia and North America.
What you'll do#
- Map current material flow and warehouse layouts to propose improvements that reduce waste and travel.
- Run cycle time studies across operations to identify bottlenecks and balance the production line.
- Audit standard operating procedures (SOPs) on the floor, identify gaps, and lead corrective actions.
- Lead 5S audits and implement visual controls for workplace organization.
- Build dashboards to track throughput, cycle time, and SOP compliance, then turn that data into recommendations.
- Create visual work instructions, standard work sheets, and layout drawings for operator training.
- Support continuous improvement projects like ergonomic assessments, workstation redesign, and fixture improvements.
- Prepare processes for engineering changes and new product introductions.
- Partner with the Quality team to investigate production defects and update PFMEA documentation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering at a Canadian university.
- Expected graduation between December 2027 and summer 2028.
- Professional proficiency in both French and English, written and spoken.
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles such as JIT, standard work, 5S, and value stream mapping.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD tools for layout work.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities as needs shift on the floor.
- Previous internship or co-op experience in manufacturing, operations, or quality is a plus.
- Familiarity with tools like Mode, Hex, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Python, Jira, or PLM systems is an asset.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship for Summer 2027 based in Longueuil, Quebec.
- The pay range for this position is $34 to $36 CAD per hour.
- Interns receive 2 days of paid time off and 3 days of sick time, plus subsidized commuter benefits and Lyft ride credits.
