    About the role#

    As a Hardware Field Quality Engineer Intern, you will join the Field Quality team at our Longueuil facility. This team manages how our bikes, e-bikes, batteries, and stations perform in the real world across diverse global cities. You will work alongside engineers to spot hardware issues, investigate root causes, and support fixes. This role involves a mix of hands-on lab work with failed parts and data analysis to determine the scale of hardware problems.

    What you'll do#

    • Support failure analysis on parts returned from the field by assisting with teardown, inspection, and electrical testing.
    • Document findings with photos.
    • Monitor field data, including vehicle and station alerts and repair records, to flag emerging issues.
    • Build and update dashboards and queries to track reliability metrics and retrofit progress.
    • Assist with field retrofit campaigns by identifying affected units and tracking progress.
    • Review repair SOPs and troubleshooting guides to suggest improvements.
    • Contribute to field failure investigations in Jira and work with engineers on root cause and corrective actions.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering at a Canadian university.
    • Graduation date between December 2027 and summer 2028.
    • Master's students with prior work experience must have less than 2 years of full-time experience.
    • Professional proficiency in French and English, both written and spoken.
    • Hands-on comfort with electromechanical hardware, including disassembly, inspection, and basic electrical troubleshooting with tools like a multimeter.
    • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with large, imperfect datasets.
    • Familiarity with structured problem-solving methods such as 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, 8D, or FMEA.
    • Clear written communication skills and a detail-oriented approach.

    • Location: Longueuil, Quebec, Canada.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Modality: This is a full-time, on-site position.
    • Compensation: The expected base pay range is $34 to $36 per hour CAD.
    • Benefits: Includes mental health benefits, 2 days of paid time off, 3 days of sick time, and subsidized commuter benefits with Lyft ride credits.
