About the role#
As a Content Systems intern, you will join the team responsible for the language ecosystem at Lyft. This role focuses on two areas: designing our internal content system and information architecture, and partnering with design teams to build products for the Lyft community. You will work alongside designers, researchers, engineers, and product managers to create consistent experiences for our riders.
What you'll do#
- Establish and translate information architecture to manage content.
- Help teams refine existing processes and workflows to align with new information architecture.
- Act as a content designer and learning experience designer to support product strategy.
- Turn complex concepts into clear in-product copy, including UI, notifications, and error messages.
- Create learning materials for our users.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across tech and operations, including data science and marketing.
- Manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Maintain and champion the Lyft brand voice and style.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD program in a writing or UX-adjacent field, such as English, Journalism, User Experience, Design, Education, Sociology, or Psychology at a Canadian university.
- A graduation date between December 2027 and Summer 2028.
- Availability for a full-time internship in Toronto during Summer 2027.
- A portfolio featuring at least 3 samples or case studies in UX writing, information architecture, or education design.
- A systems-oriented mindset and the ability to discuss strategy and results.
- Interest in design tools like Figma or content management systems is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship based in Toronto, Ontario.
- The role follows a hybrid work model, requiring in-office attendance at least 3 days per week, specifically on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
