The Intern-Clinical Psych works within the Psychiatry Resident Program, providing support to patients and their families. This role involves performing counseling, psychotherapy, and psychological evaluations under the direct supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist. You will be expected to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining professional communication and adhering to institutional policies.
What you'll do#
- Provide counseling and psychotherapy to patients and their families.
- Conduct psychological evaluations.
- Collaborate with the clinical team and accept direction as needed.
- Communicate positively and professionally with patients, families, and staff.
- Enforce policies assertively and maintain organization across multiple assignments.
What you'll need#
- Master's Degree in clinical psychology.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Ability to communicate effectively in English; proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
- Capability to work independently, think critically, and manage a workload under pressure.
- Proficiency with computer software and patient care equipment.
