About the role#
We are looking for a Pharmacy Intern to join our team in Woodstock, Ontario. This part-time, on-site position reports to the Pharmacy Manager. You will provide quality patient care through medication dispensing and professional services while working under the supervision of a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Provide professional services, including medication reviews.
- Administer vaccinations and perform activities legislated by the Pharmacist Scope of Practice Program, such as point-of-care testing and prescription modifications.
- Prepare, dispense, and control medications with accuracy and speed.
- Counsel patients on new and existing medications.
- Resolve patient needs and doctor requests in a timely, positive manner.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels for medications and over-the-counter supplements.
- Educate customers through public relations efforts like clinics and public health days.
- Follow our pharmacy standards of practice for safe drug distribution.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
- A certificate of registration as an intern with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Professionalism and superior customer relations abilities.
- Leadership and performance management skills.
- Experience creating and executing action plans.
- Ability to build the business using community-based marketing strategies.
- Proficiency with personal computers. Knowledge of the HealthWatch Pharmacy Computer system is an asset.
Location & details#
- Location: 969 Dundas St, Woodstock, ON.
- Employment Type: Part-time.
- Salary: $20.90 to $28.60 per hour, depending on experience and location.
- Requirement: Candidates 18 years or older must complete a criminal background check.
