About the role#
As a Land Development Intern at LJA, you will gain hands-on experience by working directly with project teams. You will report to a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager and collaborate with Engineers in Training. This role involves exposure to active civil engineering projects and participation in structured learning opportunities, including lunch-and-learn sessions and job site visits. You will conclude the program by giving a presentation on your project contributions and experience.
What you'll do#
- Support engineers with project tasks and deliverables.
- Assist with ongoing civil engineering projects under supervision.
- Participate in team meetings to learn project workflows.
- Shadow engineers in both office and field environments.
- Engage in professional development and learning sessions.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least one year of college.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental, or a relevant engineering degree.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically MS Excel.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies.

- Location: Houston, Texas.
- Term: Summer 2026 (mid-May through early August).
- Modality: Full-time, on-site, 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
