About the role#
The Nutrition Department Assistant supports the management and daily operations of the Foods Lab. This position involves maintaining inventory, preparing supplies for weekly labs, and ensuring the facility remains organized and functional. This is a part-time role requiring an average of 10 hours per week for approximately 140 hours per semester.
What you'll do#
- Manage the Foods Lab by organizing equipment and restocking supplies.
- Prepare shopping lists for groceries and lab materials.
- Monitor the pantry, freezer, and refrigerator for expired items and replace them as needed.
- Ensure lab equipment functions properly and report any necessary repairs.
- Maintain lab cleanliness and verify that workstations are correctly stocked.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as preparing handouts and restocking first aid supplies.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting and carrying groceries and lab items.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student at Lipscomb University.
- Federal Work Study status is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills to manage inventory on a timely basis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Google software.
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain a punctual, professional approach.
