About the role#
The Nutrition Department is seeking a student worker to assist with the daily operations and management of the Foods Lab. This role supports the department through inventory tracking, lab preparation, and maintenance tasks. This is a part-time, on-site position averaging 10 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Prepare for weekly labs by organizing equipment, managing grocery and supply lists, and setting up workstations.
- Monitor inventory levels for food and supplies, including checking for expired items in the pantry, refrigerator, and freezer.
- Maintain lab cleanliness and ensure dishwashers are emptied and items are stored correctly.
- Verify that lab equipment is functioning properly and report any issues or repair needs.
- Restock first aid supplies as needed.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as preparing handouts and other duties as assigned.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting and carrying groceries and supplies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student at Lipscomb University.
- Federal Work Study status is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills to manage inventory on a timely basis.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Google software.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Punctuality and a motivated attitude toward professional development.

- Location: Nashville, Tennessee.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: Approximately 10 hours per week, totaling about 140 hours per semester.
