About the role#
The FFBA Analytical Development Intern joins the Functional, Flow Cytometry, and BioAnalytics team in Somerset, New Jersey. This role focuses on improving sample ascension procedures and supporting data collection for in-house testing. You will work under the guidance of senior scientists to assist with laboratory tasks, documentation, and routine testing.
What you'll do#
- Work with scientists to identify and resolve issues in the electronic sample ascension process.
- Write procedures to organize sample data and test reporting.
- Assist with routine laboratory activities, such as equipment calibration, cleaning, and general upkeep.
- Perform inventory maintenance and cell culture tasks.
- Help create Electronic Laboratory Notebook entries and LIMS sample templates.
- Observe and assist with the testing of non-critical samples.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a rising senior or a graduate student pursuing an MS in biology, biochemistry, chemical or bio engineering, immunology, molecular biology, or a related field.
- Completed coursework in areas such as Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or Organic Chemistry.
- Laboratory experience gained through coursework or academic research.
- Knowledge of BSL2 best practices and the handling of biohazardous materials.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools like GraphPad Prism, PowerBI, JMP, or R.
- Strong written and verbal English skills.
