About the role#
Layup Parts is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join the hardware team in Huntington Beach. This role focuses on the development and expansion of an automated factory environment. Interns will work on industrial equipment and factory machinery, contributing to projects that support the aerospace, defense, and motorsports industries.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the build-out of an automated factory.
- Gain hands-on experience in electrical systems engineering, control design, and robotics.
- Collaborate with the software engineering and mechanical design teams to solve manufacturing challenges.
- Participate in the design, retrofitting, and commissioning of robots and automated systems.
What you'll need#
- Strong engineering ability with a focus on fundamentals.
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems.
- Electrical systems design experience.
- Robotic systems experience.
- Good understanding of the mechanical and manufacturing landscape, particularly regarding composite parts.
- Enrollment in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Computer, or Biomedical Engineering programs.
