About the role#
Lamp Rynearson offers a paid internship program for students to gain practical experience in the civil engineering industry. You will work on-site at our Kansas City office to support civil design projects. This role bridges the gap between academic study and professional practice by allowing you to apply classroom knowledge to real-world situations.
What you'll do#
- Support civil design tasks under the direct supervision of a professional engineer or project manager.
- Assist with on-site construction observation work.
- Work both independently and as part of a team to complete assignments.
- Use problem-solving and decision-making skills to manage multiple project priorities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited civil, environmental, or construction management engineering program.
- At least two years of completed coursework toward your degree is preferred.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and financial functions to practical situations.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- A genuine interest in public infrastructure projects.
