About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work on embedded software for tactical radio equipment. This role involves applying engineering and mathematical principles to build software for specific applications. You will work with cross-functional teams to design interfaces between hardware and software and evaluate system performance.
What you'll do#
- Support the full software development life cycle, including requirements, design, implementation, and testing.
- Develop software test procedures, programs, and documentation.
- Use modeling tools to establish operating data and conduct experimental tests.
- Participate in peer reviews to identify and fix defects.
- Work with various languages including C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Perl, Python, Ajax, and Qt.
- Develop on Windows, Linux, and embedded real-time operating systems like VxWorks, QNX, and Integrity.
What you'll need#
- You must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Information Security, Mathematics, Digital Arts & Sciences, or a related field at an accredited university.
Location & details#
- Location: Rochester, New York.
- Schedule: This is a full-time, on-site role with a 9/80 schedule, meaning you work 80 hours over 9 days and have every other Friday off.
- Compensation: The salary range is $26.50 to $31.00 per hour.
