About the role#
L3Harris Technologies is hiring a Software Engineering Intern to work on real-time control systems for advanced tactical radio equipment. This is a full-time, paid position based in Clifton, New Jersey. You will work on-site as part of a team developing software across the entire development life cycle.
What you'll do#
- Apply computer science and engineering principles to develop software for target applications.
- Work with cross-functional engineering teams to design and evaluate hardware and software interfaces.
- Support all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and testing.
- Develop software test procedures, programs, and related documentation.
- Use modeling tools to establish operating data, run experimental tests, and evaluate results.
- Participate in peer reviews to identify, track, and repair software defects.
- Write code in languages including C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Perl, Python, and Ajax.
- Deploy software across Windows, Linux, mobile platforms, and embedded real-time operating systems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program at an accredited university.
- A major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Information Security, Mathematics, or Digital Arts and Sciences.
- Experience or coursework in areas such as C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Qt, Windows.NET, Unix, Linux, SOA, RTOS, Real-Time Controls, Wireless, Software Security, Robotics, OOA/OOD, Hadoop, Android, or Embedded Systems.

- Location: Clifton, New Jersey.
- Schedule: 9/80 schedule, which includes 80 hours worked over 9 days with every other Friday off.
