About the role#
This is a 16-month co-op position reporting to the Materials Manager. You will gain hands-on experience in inventory management while partnering with various teams to solve operational issues. The role focuses on process optimization and data-driven logistics support.
What you'll do#
- Lead and attend daily GEMBA departmental meetings.
- Manage inventory control, counts, and audits.
- Handle material movement processes and receiving incoming stock.
- Communicate status updates on export shipments to the organization.
- Support the creation of new processes and a centralized data management platform.
- Use tools like MS Excel and Access to solve logistics challenges.
- Work with the Materials Manager to establish performance metrics.
- Focus on process optimization for reliability, process control, and quality improvement.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 3 or 4-year university degree in Supply Chain Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
- Ability to commit to a 16-month co-op term starting in May 2027.
- Current enrollment and good standing in a university co-op program.
- Ability to obtain Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) clearance.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Project, and Word.
- Strong planning, organizational, and data presentation skills.
- Ability to research and develop statistical models, predictive analysis, and data visualization.
- Experience with relational databases like Microsoft SQL and data warehouse practices is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A results-oriented approach to problem-solving.
