About the role#
Sena Affordable Communities, a part of the L+M Fund Management team, focuses on national preservation projects outside of New York City. The team works to preserve existing affordable housing through the acquisition and rehabilitation of properties. As a summer intern, you will work both independently and as part of a team during a ten-week program. You will gain exposure to the industry, visit job sites, and present your findings to senior management.
What you'll do#
- Assist asset managers with the financial review of monthly operating reports.
- Participate in calls with third-party management company representatives to discuss property operations.
- Support the team on various projects, including reviewing operations to ensure the timely release of equity from LIHTC investors.
- Join asset managers on site visits to local properties.
- Perform various ad hoc projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old and currently pursuing a graduate degree.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- An understanding of real estate finance is preferred. Applicants may be asked to complete a brief exercise to demonstrate this knowledge.
- Coursework in Real Estate Finance or Investments is a plus.

- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship based in New York, New York.
