About the role#
The Aggregate Operations Co-Op provides a comprehensive look at the aggregate production business. This program immerses you in quarry operations, production processes, safety management, and quality control. You will work alongside operations managers, engineers, and maintenance teams to support projects that drive performance and operational improvements.
What you'll do#
- Gain exposure to daily quarry and plant operations, including surface mining and extraction methods.
- Observe drilling and blasting activities and participate in production planning.
- Participate in safety meetings, audits, and field inspections while learning MSHA regulations.
- Assist with aggregate sampling, testing, and quality assurance procedures.
- Support process improvement initiatives and participate in data collection projects.
- Gain hands-on experience with preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns and learn about equipment reliability.
- Learn the operation of crushing, screening, conveying, and mobile equipment systems.
- Gain exposure to aggregate sales, customer service, and inventory management.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Strong interest in mining, aggregate production, or heavy industrial operations.
- Ability to work safely in a quarry and industrial environment.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Prior internship, co-op, or construction experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with engineering principles or industrial equipment systems is preferred.

- This is a full-time, paid position based on-site.
- Locations include Columbus, Fredericktown, Upper Sandusky, Wooster, and St. Louisville, Ohio.
