About the role#
This is a full-time summer internship based in Milpitas, California. You will join the Metrology division to work on advanced mechatronics systems. The role involves developing custom control systems for high-precision wafer stages while working alongside design engineers. You will gain hands-on experience in a corporate environment by solving real technical problems.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with design engineers to build advanced metrology systems.
- Manage projects and conduct data analysis independently.
- Perform hands-on work with hardware in the lab or cleanroom.
- Present your technical analysis to the team in both verbal and written formats.
- Modify tuning algorithms and update machine learning models.
- Identify implementation gaps and propose solutions.
- Apply first principles to your design work.
- Meet project milestones and timelines.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Ph.D. or Master's degree program.
- A minimum 3.5 GPA.
- Preferred background in electrical, robotics, control systems, mechanical engineering, or data science.
- Hands-on lab experience.
- Knowledge of Matlab for data analysis, control development, and building GUIs.
- Experience with hardware system validation.
- Technical knowledge in at least one of these areas: System Dynamics and Identification, Signal processing, Predictive Maintenance, or modeling of mechanical systems.
