About the role#
Kinectrics is hiring a Drafting Co-op Student for the Summer 2027 term. This position is part of our Design and Engineering Services department and supports projects for nuclear power plants and similar facilities. You will work in a hybrid capacity based in Toronto, Ontario. We offer placements ranging from 4 to 16 months.
What you'll do#
- Perform drafting, designing, and modeling tasks across mechanical, civil, electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines.
- Collaborate with engineers on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, student socials, and company events.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in a post-secondary undergraduate program requiring a co-op placement, with 2nd or 3rd year students preferred.
- Proficiency in at least one 2D or 3D design package such as Autodesk Suite, AVEVA products, SolidWorks, SharePoint, Solid Edge, CATIA, MicroStation, or Bentley ProStructures.
- Practical experience in structural design, piping, flow diagrams, mechanical details, or electrical design.
- Strong time management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and interface effectively with team members.
- Knowledge of 3D laser scanning equipment is an asset.
- Ability to pass a security clearance process.
