About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in construction management within the power market. You will work with teams to build, estimate, and schedule mechanical, electrical, and heavy industrial systems. This role is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support administrative and construction tasks, including reviewing proposals, specifications, and drawings.
- Perform material takeoffs and prepare cost estimates.
- Attend pre-bid investigation meetings.
- Supervise subcontractors and coordinate with vendors.
- Develop work plans and manage equipment schedules.
- Maintain quality control and administer safety programs.
- Track project costs and materials while maintaining owner relations.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand project scheduling.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to access all areas of a construction site in various climates.
- Reliable transportation for commuting.
- Familiarity with software like Primavera P6, Revit, SAP, Hard Dollar, SureTrak, or Pro Log is a plus.
- Knowledge of OSHA and federal construction safety requirements is preferred.
