About the role#
This internship focuses on the business management side of engineering and construction projects. You will support project accounting and finance functions, working on tasks like cost control, payroll, and compliance. Each project operates like a small business, and you will help manage components such as labor, equipment, materials, and subcontracts. You will also assist with the month-end close process and prepare financial reporting packages for project management.
What you'll do#
- Manage payroll and HR workflows, including hiring, transfers, and terminations.
- Oversee purchasing workflows, invoice processing, and accounts payable troubleshooting.
- Handle intercompany and client billing documentation to support cash management.
- Review costs, quantity claiming, and budget structures to ensure accurate reporting.
- Identify and adjust forecast or budget issues within cost reports.
- Coordinate with the compliance department to implement EEO and labor laws.
- Collaborate with the Operations team and adapt to project needs as they arise.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or Business Administration with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Experience with Pivot Tables and V-Lookups is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot discrepancies.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- Travel: Up to 50% travel or relocation may be required.
- Physical requirements: Must be able to access all parts of a construction site in various climates and environments.
