The Guest Services Internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the hospitality industry at the JW Marriott Savannah. This role focuses on delivering attentive and efficient service to guests throughout their stay, from check-in to checkout, while maintaining the high operational standards of the hotel.
What you'll do#
- Greet and welcome guests at the Front Desk.
- Handle check-ins and checkouts with a friendly and efficient approach.
- Answer guest inquiries regarding hotel services, facilities, hours of operation, and local recommendations.
- Manage the logging and delivery of packages, mail, and messages for guests and meeting rooms.
- Maintain a clean work area and adhere to all cash handling and credit policies.
- Operate the Front Desk computer system and perform shift tasks, including paperwork, report verification, and room rate checks.
- Maintain a professional appearance and grooming, including wearing the required uniform and nametag.
What you'll need#
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a hotel or customer service role is preferred.
- Ability to stand for the duration of an entire shift.
- Capacity to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds occasionally.
- Flexibility to work long hours as required by the needs of the hotel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with computers.
- Currently pursuing or interested in fields such as Business Administration, Communications, Human Resources, or Sociology.
