About the role#
KCI is seeking a student for a Structural Engineer Internship focused on bridge structures for Summer 2027. This is a full-time, on-site position. You will work 40 hours per week for at least 10 weeks between mid-May and the end of August. You will be paired with a dedicated supervisor and mentor to guide your work.
What you'll do#
- Assist with structural design calculations, drawings, and specifications for bridges.
- Support structural modeling and analysis tasks.
- Participate in inspection activities, including field data collection, reporting, and documentation.
- Review construction and shop drawings to check for design compliance.
- Accompany engineers on site visits to observe construction progress and verify field conditions.
- Help prepare project reports, cost estimates, and proposals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited college engineering program.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- A 3.0 GPA or higher is preferred.
