About the role#
KBS Constructors is looking for interns to work on active construction sites in Topeka and surrounding areas. This role focuses on field work, giving you the chance to work alongside skilled craft workers to see how commercial buildings come together. You will also shadow project managers and estimators to understand how projects move from planning to execution.
What you'll do#
- Perform tasks based on plans and specifications provided by the superintendent.
- Assist with wall layout, framing, drywall finishing, and concrete work.
- Install acoustical ceilings, bathroom partitions, doors, hardware, and casework.
- Help maintain quality and production standards.
- Keep the jobsite clean and free of debris to ensure a safe environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Construction Management, Construction Technology, or related program.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn new skills on the job.

- Location: Topeka, Kansas.
- Term: Summer 2027 (full-time, mid-May through August).
- Modality: On-site.
- This is a paid internship.
