About the role#
K&L Gates is seeking an AI Intern to join our team in Pittsburgh. This role focuses on applied AI initiatives, specifically Large Language Models, agentic workflows, and automation. You will work alongside developers and business stakeholders to prototype and integrate AI capabilities into real-world workflows while learning about responsible AI, security, and governance.
What you'll do#
- Prototype and improve AI-powered solutions in an enterprise environment.
- Design, build, and maintain machine learning models and AI-driven solutions.
- Test, deploy, and manage AI systems throughout their lifecycle.
- Support LLM experimentation, including prompting, tool orchestration, and related workflows.
- Contribute to vector search, embeddings, and RAG pipelines.
- Develop evaluation approaches to measure solution quality and reliability.
- Document technical work for both technical and non-technical audiences.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Foundational programming skills.
- Understanding of core AI and machine learning concepts.
- Familiarity with LLM capabilities and limitations.
- Ability to communicate clearly and document technical work.
