About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to support children and families with significant behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs. Interns work within the Community Based Services division to provide services in an after-school environment. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver individualized, strength-based care.
What you'll do#
- Learn to use clinical interventions to support youth in social and educational settings.
- Apply clinical knowledge through evidence-based and culturally competent modalities.
- Improve documentation skills and gain experience with electronic medical records.
- Collaborate as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team supporting youth and families.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program or higher in mental health, social work, or a human service field.
- A strong interest in working with children and adolescents.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed models of treatment is preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Successful completion of background and driving record checks.
