About the role#
As a Summer Intern in the Consumer and Community Banking Risk Modeling team, you will build solutions for credit decisions, fraud detection, and loan loss reserves. You will work on projects aligned with your academic interests, supported by mentorship and speaker series with senior leaders. This program is for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Apply machine learning techniques and data science theories to company data assets.
- Partner with academic institutions on research projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to drive model-driven business changes.
- Focus on areas including Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Natural Language Processing, Speech and Voice Analytics, Time Series, Computer Vision, Cryptography, and AI ethics.
- Handle sensitive data according to firm protocols and interact with governance bodies following internal policies.
- Work with team members in a collaborative environment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Ph.D. or 2-year Master’s degree program in math, science, engineering, computer science, or a related quantitative field.
- Expected graduation between December 2027 and July 2028.
- Proficiency in Python and knowledge of machine learning theory and tools.
- Analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with a background in research.
- Ability to explain findings to non-technical audiences.
- Experience with tools like PyTorch, XGBoost, Hadoop, PySpark, and SQL is preferred.
- Familiarity with languages such as Java, C++, C#, or Rust is a plus.
- Knowledge of advanced mathematics, including probability theory, Monte-Carlo simulation, Markov chains, and econometric theories.
- Understanding of Reinforcement, Meta, Graph, or Transfer learning, as well as architectures like Transformers or Mamba.
