About the role#
Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Software Test Engineering Co-op to join our team in Danvers, Massachusetts. This role is for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on software testing for medical devices, focusing on end-to-end testing using Pytest and other internal tools. This is a full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Pytest.
- Collaborate with developers and QA team members to design comprehensive test plans.
- Identify, document, and track software defects, working with the development team to resolve them.
- Participate in code reviews and walkthroughs to ensure quality standards.
- Perform manual and automated testing to verify application functionality, performance, and security.
- Generate test reports and provide recommendations for process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C, Rust, Python, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with automated test frameworks like Pytest.
- Experience with version control systems, specifically Git.
- Understanding of database concepts and experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven experience through coursework, personal projects, or previous internships.
- Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship.
- Coursework in electrical engineering, signals and systems, or embedded devices is a plus.
- Experience with embedded software involving low-level languages like C, C++, Rust, or Go is a plus.
- Exposure to Agile or Scrum methodologies is preferred.
