About the role#
The Production, Planning, and Logistics (PPL) Co-op at the Cornelia site focuses on process improvement within receiving, shipping, staging, and dock operations. You will report to the Supply Chain Manager and collaborate with teams across Warehouse Operations, Planning, Quality, Engineering, and Facilities. This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while contributing to operational efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Collect and analyze operational data to identify process gaps, delays, and waste.
- Document material and information flows using process maps, workflow diagrams, time studies, and spaghetti diagrams.
- Evaluate dock and staging-area utilization, including space usage and material flow.
- Support or lead defined process improvement projects and help implement sustainable changes.
- Assist in developing future-state workflows, standard work, visual controls, and checklists.
- Coordinate improvement activities with cross-functional stakeholders and support pilot implementations.
- Develop and maintain reports or dashboards for logistics measures while validating source data.
- Prepare project updates, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders.
- Identify and communicate safety, quality, or operational concerns promptly.
- Support audits, nonconformance investigations, and corrective actions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or Data Science.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Authorized to work in the US without current or future sponsorship requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Foundational knowledge of process improvement, structured problem solving, or data analysis.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including hourly associates and professional staff.
- Ability to spend time in an active warehouse environment while following safety requirements.
- Capacity to observe processes objectively and document findings factually.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn directly from warehouse, transportation, and logistics personnel.
- Generally 0 to 2 years of work experience.
