About the role#
This Co-op position is based in Wilson, North Carolina. You will support the development of a new large molecule drug substance manufacturing site. This role offers a learning experience where you will work alongside process engineering teams, project leads, and external vendors. You will gain practical skills in process engineering and project management while building a foundation for your engineering career.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and execute engineering documentation, operating procedures, and validation test plans for utility and process systems.
- Develop tools to measure, track, and improve standards compliance.
- Assist with data validation, entry, and maintenance of databases and spreadsheets.
- Participate in system testing and troubleshooting.
- Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Help evaluate and improve current processes to boost efficiency.
- Support project managers by coordinating activities, monitoring timelines, and preparing reports.
- Manage purchase orders, track inventory, and communicate with suppliers.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling and file organization.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a BS or MS program for Chemical, Biomedical, Mechanical, or Bioengineering.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction and as part of a team.
- Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Experience in a cGMP environment or knowledge of monoclonal antibody production equipment is preferred.
- A basic understanding of large molecule drug manufacturing is a plus.
