About the role#
This is a full-time Operations Co-Op position based in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. You will work 40 hours per week during the 2027 calendar year, covering the Winter, Summer, and Fall terms. You will report to a mentor and focus on projects that improve process efficiency, reduce costs, and lower cycle times.
What you'll do#
- Use project management methodologies like FPX to execute departmental projects.
- Apply Lean and Six Sigma techniques to drive process improvements.
- Write and verify technical specifications and maintain process documentation.
- Test raw materials, equipment, and products.
- Validate equipment and processes.
- Assist in developing concepts for new products, test methods, or processes.
- Prepare reports to communicate project results.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and occupational health policies, including ISO14001 and OSHAS 18001.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two years of study toward a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish, with excellent writing skills in both languages.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to assess issues, set priorities, and work with a sense of urgency.
- Enrollment in an accredited university in good academic standing.
- Knowledge of Visio and Minitab is highly desirable.
- Previous internship, co-op, or academic research experience is preferred.
- Participation in student associations or organizations is a plus.
- Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for visa sponsorship.
