About the role#
The Manufacturing Engineering Co-op provides technical and operational support to manufacturing processes, equipment, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will gain hands-on experience in a regulated manufacturing environment while working on projects that improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and compliance. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Support manufacturing engineering projects focused on process optimization, yield improvement, and waste reduction.
- Analyze production, quality, and equipment performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Assist with troubleshooting manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support validation, qualification, and process characterization activities.
- Develop and update work instructions, visual aids, and engineering documentation.
- Conduct time studies, capacity analyses, and workflow assessments.
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to implement sustainable process improvements.
- Present project findings, data analysis, and recommendations to engineering and operational leadership.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least your freshman year at an accredited university.
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing, or a related engineering field.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university during the co-op.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools including Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated interest in manufacturing, process improvement, and operational excellence.
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, statistical analysis, or Six Sigma tools is preferred.
- Experience with data analysis tools like Power BI or Minitab is a plus.
- Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship.
