About the role#
This summer internship is based in Jacksonville, Florida, within our Vision organization. You will work alongside scientists and engineers to support research, innovation, and new product development. The role focuses on applying science and engineering to address eye health needs, including work on contact lenses and vision surgery technology.
What you'll do#
- Execute a project assignment related to an eye health product, enabling technology, or internal operations.
- Handle tasks involving fundamental research, characterization, process or product development, clinical study execution, and regulatory submissions.
- Develop test methods and equipment.
- Collaborate with various technical disciplines to apply new equipment and processes.
- Advocate for the continuous improvement of internal processes.
- Review project progress and evaluate results across different functional groups.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year degree program in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Health Science, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Enrollment in your academic program throughout the internship.
- Experience in a relevant field, such as previous internships, research assistant roles, or specific coursework.
- Prior work experience.
