About the role#
This Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op position is based in Cornelia, Georgia. You will join the Ethicon Global Tech Ops group for the Winter 2027 term, running from January to May. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring 40 hours per week. You will gain hands-on experience with the production of adhesives, polymer resins, needle manufacturing, and extrudate.
What you'll do#
- Analyze and correct mechanical, electrical, and chemical operating problems to support site operations.
- Maintain good documentation practices by writing test protocols, generating final reports, and recording meeting minutes.
- Work with Senior Engineers and mentors to carry out continuous improvement projects.
- Present your work to site management at the end of the semester.
- Participate in company volunteer activities.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least your freshman year at an accredited university.
- Current pursuit of a degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical, Electrical, Computer, or Plastics Engineering, Mechatronics, or Material Science.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Ability to work independently and within diverse, multi-functional teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail.
- Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without future sponsorship.
- No existing employment commitments that conflict with the program dates.
- Experience with CAD, Tableau, Power BI, Minitab, or statistical analysis is preferred.
- Interest in industrial control systems like PLC/DCS, instrumentation, or MES is preferred for Automation and Control roles.
- Demonstrated leadership or participation in campus and community service is preferred.
