About the role#
This Business Excellence Engineering Co-Op position offers students the opportunity to work within our MedTech operations. You will spend your term working on projects designed to improve process efficiency, reduce cycle times, lower costs, and enhance overall quality. You will work under the guidance of a mentor to apply project management and process excellence methodologies to real-world manufacturing and development challenges.
What you'll do#
- Execute projects using methodologies like FPX and Lean/Six Sigma to improve assigned areas.
- Write and verify specifications while maintaining accurate product and process documentation.
- Test processes, equipment, raw materials, and finished products.
- Validate equipment and processes to ensure compliance with standards.
- Assist in creating concepts and designs for new products, processes, or test methods.
- Prepare reports to communicate project results.
- Ensure all work complies with environmental, safety, and occupational health policies, including ISO14001 and OSHAS 18001.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies with a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English, with strong writing skills in both languages.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD.
- Ability to assess issues, set priorities, and work with a sense of urgency.
- Knowledge of Visio and Minitab is highly desirable.
- Previous internship, co-op, or academic research experience is preferred.
- Participation in student associations or organizations is a plus.
- Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for visa sponsorship.

- Locations: San Lorenzo and Manatí, Puerto Rico.
- Terms: Winter, Summer, and Fall 2027.
- Modality: This is a full-time, on-site position requiring 40 hours per week.
- Status: This is a paid co-op program.
